A Lummi Elder’s Blueprint for Living

Pauline Hillaire, a renowned Lummi Elder, comes from the oral tradition. At 79 she says “I need to share all the knowledge I have”….She has authored two books, taught at numerous places including Northwest Indian College and is a storyteller, basket maker, historian, philosopher, and interpreter of totem poles. And she sings, dances and writes poetry as well. And perhaps there is more!

Her passion for what is happening to our world is profound. She will speak about “A Blueprint for Living”, based on the Lummi value system, something she is eager to share. To her, nature and spirituality are one. “We are so grounded in nature” she says. “You can’t take us from it!”
