Join RE Sources for Sustainable Communities, the City of Bellingham, and Bellingham Technical College on Saturday, May 12th at 10 am at the Bellingham Technical College campus (located at 3028 Lindbergh Avenue in Bellingham) for a walking tour of low impact development and green infrastructure projects in the Birchwood Neighborhood.  Meet people in the Birchwood Neighborhood who are making small, easy changes in their daily lives to reduce the amount of pollution entering Little Squalicum Creek, Bellingham Bay, and the Puget Sound. Low impact development (LID) or green infrastructure such as rain barrels, rain gardens, green roofs, and pervious paving can be used to reduce the amount of polluted runoff entering the stormwater system and help our urban areas function more like a natural landscape.

This event is free and open to the public.  Meet in front of G Building at Bellingham Technical College.  The walk will explore portions of the Birchwood neighborhood and the BTC campus to view green infrastructure examples, and will last for approximately 2 hours, ending with refreshments at BTC.
