Awakening the Dreamer is an initiative of The Pachamama Alliance, a San Francisco-based non-profit whose mission is to preserve the Earth’s tropical rainforests and to contribute to the creation of a global vision of equity and sustainability for all. When the Pachamama Alliance approached the indigenous people of South America to ask how they could help preserve the rainforests, they were told that the most powerful action that we in America could take would be to “change the dream of the North.”
The event includes powerful video segments featuring interviews with world environmental and spiritual leaders, and uses group discussions, to address the question: What will it take to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on earth?
If you have been feeling down-hearted about the state of the world and wondering what one person can do to make a difference, this experience will re-energize your belief in the possibility of change and renew your hope about our world.
